Your character's origin combines a background (their history) with a species (their ancestry).

Backgrounds

Your background describes what your character did before becoming an adventurer. See Backgrounds for the four available backgrounds: Acolyte, Criminal, Sage, and Soldier.

Species

Your species determines your physical characteristics and innate abilities.
